What Every Woman Should Learn From Queen Esther

QueenEsthercherries2

If you have read the Book of Esther in the Bible , you will notice some outstanding characteristics of Esther displayed in the book. I believe that every woman should look to attain these precious qualities. You can imagine if all the women take to heart what am about to list how the world would become a better place. Because Women are givers of life (Hebrews 11:35 )this goes beyond giving birth, they have a capability to bring something that is dead to life.

The woman has the ability :

  • To give life physically through birth
  • In her home and family
  • To cause resurrection in her society
  • ability to influence society for good.

This is why it is very important for every woman to take heed of the characteristics of Esther.

  1. Self-control

I am speaking to women who think by shouting and letting out their anger they save the day, that is clearly very wrong, we should emulate Esther’s character…

Esther had perfect self-control. The ability to be queen over herself is what made her queen over the world.Had she revealed her ancestry, she would have defeated this purpose. She therefore carefully guarded her secret until the proper time.

This incredible silence is the outstanding virtue that made Esther Queen. She boldly and courageously kept her secret while under terrific pressure from a king and an entire nation. Esther did not dare reveal anything, for she knew that her silence was necessary for the salvation of the Jewish people. She knew that there would come a time when she would have to tell and that there was a divine purpose in store for her.

Building a successful relationship or even life requires self-control and knowing how and when to speak. We sometimes lose control of ourselves and out of anger, say things that we later regret. Many times the regret does not rectify the damage that was done. If only we could control ourselves and save the damage.

Many Women have the “ability” to talk and I mean talking without stopping like a stream of water flowing, without sensing that the other person is being hurt just in order to drive the point home. I am a woman and that has happened a lot of time, but by understanding the importance of staying calm even when things are ugly, i chose to have self-control, though it’s a process and quite hard, it calls for a need to be selfless and think about the other person. don’t you know that it may stir up anger on the other person and in defense might do something foolishly just because of that? We ought to guard our hearts and ask God to grant us self-control which comes from His Spirit.

If you have time you can read these verses on self-control and you will understand how important for God to purge out anger in our hearts. Proverbs 29:11 Galatians 5:22-23 Psalm 141:3 Proverbs 21:23 Proverbs 6:1-3

   2.Selflessness

Fasting is a sacrifice Esther sacrificed

You know how difficult it is to fast especially if you are not fasting for the things you desire. I mean if you are told to fast for the thieves in your area so that they could be saved? would it be hard or eeeaasssy? It’s a bit easier to fast for ourselves you know the kind of fast that involves big cars, promotion etc (selfishness) which still is not easy how much more to fast for other people. she gave herself to prayer and fasting, going before a king without being summoned was a risk she took, she was willing to die for the purposes of God.

Would you go out of your comfort zone and sacrifice for the sake of your fellow brother/sister in Christ?

let us continue on this tomorrow……

Your words are truly a blessing. Reading your blog has encouraged me tremendously. Thank you for your insightful words. Viewing myself differently now that I’ve read, “What every Woman should Learn from Queen Ester”. I would also like to add that I loved when you stated, “The ability to be queen over herself is what made her queen over the world”. Wow that statement made me rejoice because I’m currently working on my self-concept. I acknowledge God has created all woman as queens but most of us don’t exhibit the precious qualities of a queen. Today, I’m determined to be the Queen our mighty father has called me to be beginning with possessing self-control. Thank you once again my beautiful sister. Continue being bless. I pray God blesses you with uncommon favor in every area of your life as you continue to help his ppl.
