As Matthew 7:16 says “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?” we ought to practice self-control. Remember the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. It calls for having a Christ-like nature, soaking ourselves in Christ till we have His character.
I get offended just like any other human being and at times react to circumstances in a foolish way, whether good or bad. However, what I have come to learn over the past few weeks is that, when you are going through a process be it challenging, easy, good, or bad, focus on God. Lean on him till He tells you why you are going through that process. It is easy to react emotionally and try to fight the physical instead of asking God to open your spiritual eyes to see the bigger picture.
We need to remember His promises to us, that all things work for good Romans 8:28. He promised to never leave nor forsake us Hebrews 13:5 that He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). that His love for us is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3), and that we are more than a conquerors (Romans 8:37) – PSJC.
If you ever feel overwhelmed by circumstances, remember these promises.
