My unrelenting journey in aligning to God’s purpose for my life
Lately, I have been musing over the story of Noah, (Gen Chapter 6-10 ) and I still can’t get enough of it, I tell you it has so many layers to it. Throughout my interaction with the story it is evident that once you set out to do the will of God, Impossibility is what you will do.
Have you ever thought how Illogic it was that a pair of animals of every kind came to the ark to be kept alive? (Gen 6:20) I mean only God was able to command the animals and subject them to the direction of the ark. (This happened for His purpose to be fulfilled)
Noah had taken God’s purpose and made it His goal, it was all to please God, and he never brought his selfish ambitions before God.
It will be so unfortunate if we find out at the end that the little time God had given to us on this earth, we spent it fulfilling our own selfish ambitions.
This reality and the understanding that I am here to fulfill the purpose of God – my creator, made me go to him at the start of the year with a blank book written on the cover page “what do you want from me ?” rather than crowding Him with my own dreams and goals.
This interaction is just a snippet of an upcoming post on the proper perspectives about New Year Resolutions which will be up soon on the blog.
Before the tour …
TRAVEL – Loitoktok County
I love traveling, and Long distance traveling gets me thrilled, it is not like I will be awake all through the journey 😉 but the aspect of sleeping while listening to some cool music while seated in a comfortable bus blows me away 🙂 So when my friend Wendy suggested to me and a couple of friends about this trip to loitoktok – her home, I was more than willing to explore.
Oloitokitok which is also known as Loitokitok is a town in Kajiado County, southeast of Nairobi, The town lies within the foothills and in full view of Mount Kilimanjaro. We were more than privileged to have the most beautiful view of Mt. Kilimanjaro – The highest Mountain in Africa
We had two weeks to plan this “impromptu” trip to the famous Loitoktok County. We thought that it was impromptu but actually God had it in mind long before.
We departed from Nairobi on Friday 6th Jan at 4.00pm and by 8.30 pm we were in Loitoktok town, so roughly it took us 4 hours. We spent the whole weekend there and traveled back on Sunday afternoon, the experience that we had is worth treasuring.
On Saturday, we managed to get a small tour of the town center, thanks to Wendy’s dad who could pass for the best tour guide :-). Thereafter we crossed the border and clearly, you could spot the difference between Kenya and Tanzania from the vegetation to the surrounding air. We later drove down to Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Ever since I had a taste of the soft sweet brown chapattis in Loitoktok thanks to Mama Boy, I have never loved any other chapattis. Everyone in the team can attest to that, I don’t know how she did it but she cooked them with joy to an extent I feel challenged to try if I can get my chapattis to that level 🙂
For me I would say that loitoktok is a jewel that is hidden deep down, you only need to dig deep to discover this precious jewel.
Enjoy the rest of the photos.
Excuse the Quality, all the photos were taken by phone
PS: Special Thanks to Wendy’s Parents, Wendy, and the entire team….more adventures to come!!
That’s it for today see you in the next post!!
