This was my first time to actually work with a professional makeup artist as well as doing a head shot. I remember I had to make a short prayer before heading to the location of the shoot just to ask God to partner with me in the whole process. Even after that, I was a bit nervous about the outcome. Can you imagine that after every hair style shot, I would ask Jonathan (my photographer for that day) to show me how the photo looked, just to be sure that I was doing the right thing!
One thing I learnt during the whole shoot, is that you need to be comfortable in your own skin. I have chubby cheeks 🙂 and I was concerned that the photos would bring this out. Maybe it’s because I had the perception that head shots looked best with lean cheeks. I had to remind myself who I am in Christ in order to stand comfortably. I believe that everyone can look good in any shoot provided that you bring that inner beauty and your identity in Christ in the picture.
Let’s talk Hair. Jackie is one of the talented hairstylists I have come across. She did my braids in less than an hour, two days before the shoot , I really do not like sitting long hours in the salon just being braided and that was a plus! She did these styles effortlessly.

You can achieve this look on your own without heading to the salon, suits a playful dress or an elegant long dress depending on the face you put 🙂
2. Elegant Side Crown
This is actually one of my favorites. You need to let your head relax for like two days to achieve this or else it will be more painful.
3. Chunky Braided Style
I would rock this on a dinner date 🙂 Whats your thought?
Would love to see some of the Braid styles you have tried. You can upload a pic on the comments section below or on my Facebook Page
